Abstract
Le système universitaire québécois est à la fois divisé selon la langue d'enseignement et hiérarchisé selon l'origine sociale des jeunes qui le fréquentent. À partir d'une enquête menée en 1978 auprès d'un échantillon représentatif des étudiants universitaires, on analyse les orientations institutionnelles et disciplinaires selon l'appartenance socio-linguistique, l'origine de classe et le sexe. On met en évidence des divergences dans les stratégies de reproduction, de même qu'une nette différence dans les choix féminins, selon l'appartenance sociolinguistique. L'article veut montrer comment l'ethnie, la classe et le sexe forment un champ de forces déterminant les orientations des étudiants.
