Abstract
Notre projet d’édition critique de l’oeuvre globale de Ronald Després répond à trois impératifs : mettre en lumière, d’abord, à partir de plusieurs manuscrits et documents divers se trouvant au Centre d’études acadiennes, un des textes fondamentaux de la littérature acadienne (oeuvre éditée), qui reste peu connu et peu commenté; mettre à la disposition du public, ensuite, l’oeuvre « souterraine » de l’auteur (oeuvre inédite), composée de plusieurs contes, romans et poèmes qui viennent éclairer significativement l’oeuvre officielle; mettre en lumière, enfin, autant que faire se peut, les principaux refoulements éditoriaux effectués par l’auteur sur son texte. Après un retour sommaire sur la biographie de l’auteur et la nature de son oeuvre, nous nous appliquerons à présenter quelques exemples de ses refoulements ou effacements éditoriaux, fort importants, selon nous, pour une compréhension nuancée de l’oeuvre.
