Abstract
Pierre Jeanniot a été président et chef de la direction d’Air Canada de 1984 à 1990. D’abord simple technicien, il a gravi les échelons jusqu’à devenir président. On lui doit la conception de la boîte noire, telle qu’on la connaît aujourd’hui. Contre vents et marées, il a privatisé le transporteur aérien national après y avoir opéré un redressement spectaculaire. Il a ensuite dirigé la prestigieuse Association internationale du transport aérien (IATA) de 1993 à 2002, transformant le groupe de pression bureaucratique en un organisme influent et incontournable à l’échelle internationale. En reconnaissance de sa contribution exceptionnelle, l’IATA lui a octroyé le titre de directeur général émérite. Il est aujourd’hui président-directeur général de Jinmag inc., une société-conseil en gestion. Il est administrateur de sociétés et un conférencier recherché pour ses vues sur les enjeux actuels et futurs auxquels l’industrie aérienne fait face.
