Mi lectura de Tierra adentro de Angelina Muñiz-Huberman hace un análisis del exilio material en el texto como mimético de un exilio espiritual. La acción de la novela toma lugar en el contexto de la España inquisitorial del siglo XVI, y la problemática se configura a través del personaje de un niño judío que desea convertirse en bar Mitzvah. Las limitaciones físicas que presenta el contexto son evidentes. El proceso de auto reflexión del personaje se desarrolla por medio de una narración en forma picaresca, y es el análisis de esta forma, junto con la atención al recurso textual de la alquimia y el misticismo, lo que permite una lectura alegórica en la que el viaje físico del protagonista puede ser entendido también como una representación de su viaje espiritual. Este ensayo contribuye al estudio de la obra literaria de Muñiz-Huberman, ya que la idea de un exilio espiritual es una posibilidad interpretativa que no ha sido previamente explorada en sus obras.
