RÉSUME/ABSTRACT La religion dans l'alliance franco-amérindienne La question religieuse a joué un rôle de premier plan dans la rencontre des deux mondes. En Amérique du Nord-Est aux XVII' et XVIIP siècles, missionnaires, chamanes, croyants se sont affrontés et se sont interinfluencés dans le cadre tout à la fois du processus de conquête, de l'organisation des alliances et enfin de celui des épidémies dévastatrices. En recréant le contexte social d'ensemble, on échappe à une histoire trop longtemps centrée sur les projets missionnaires pour mettre en scène tous les acteurs avec leur dynamique propre.
