Abstract
Abordant le sujet de la représentation de la ville contemporaine dans Plouk Town, Ian Monk dresse le portrait d’une vision urbaine du sale, du déchet, du rejet, à travers un portrait pluriel d'habitants humiliés et anonymisés. Cette étude montre ainsi comment le portrait de la ville imaginaire de la banlieue française s’inscrit à l'encontre du rayonnement culturel d'une francitude de carte postale, pour s'ancrer dans un réel suintant la violence et le dégoût. Le traitement des chiffres par la forme textuelle en spirale de la sextine apporte un éclairage intéressant sur la manière dont la ville contemporaine s’écrit sous forme de statistico-poésie pour dresser un inventaire de routines humiliantes.
