Au tournant de la Révolution tranquille, le père Marcel-Marie Desmarais, prédicateur populaire bien connu pour ses causeries à la radio, obtient un succès sans précédent avec la publication de La clinique du coeur , une série de 10 volumes réunissant les meilleures lettres et leurs réponses, telles que diffusées sur les ondes de CKAC. En regard du thème de l’amour, ces lettres révèlent bien les tensions d’une société qui fait face aux bouleversements de la modernité.
