Abstract

Bien qu’elle soit durement frappée par les effets de l’assimilation, la Saskatchewan compte un nombre important d’associations et d’institutions vouées à la promotion du fait français. Les membres de ces différents organismes commencent à envisager leur patrimoine culturel comme un attrait touristique et élaborent aujourd’hui des stratégies pour attirer les touristes dans leur communauté. Le tourisme est à la fois un outil de développement économique et un moyen de revaloriser l’identité fransaskoise. Cette note de recherche doctorale, issue de premières observations de terrain, tente de cerner la place que les membres de la communauté accordent au tourisme et de comprendre les mécanismes du tourisme dans cette francophonie minoritaire.
