Abstract
Au cours des dernières décennies, l'exploitation des ressources forestières sur le territoire de la Baie James a donné lieu à de nombreuses controverses entre Cris et non-autochtones. L’analyse des deux principaux paradigmes socio-culturels associés à l’environnement forestier nous permet, dans un premier temps, de mieux en appréhender les enjeux culturels. À partir des visions du monde, valeurs et intérêts, systèmes de connaissance et façons de faire des groupes en présence, nous proposons ensuite des pistes qui sont susceptibles d’améliorer la gestion de l’interculturalité relative à l’environnement forestier sur ce territoire dans la mesure où elles sont issues des savoirs autochtones, permettent leur incorporation au système de gestion, sont compatibles avec certaines approches occidentales et ont déjà été expérimentées par des groupes autochtones du Canada.
