Abstract
Cet article est divisé en deux parties : une première où nous faisons un survol des définitions du verset, afin de montrer que celles-ci s’orchestrent autour de deux enjeux, la finale et l’alinéa ; et une seconde où nous étudions quelques incipit de cinq poètes qui ont écrit en versets, soit Claudel, Segalen, Saint-John Perse, Senghor et Glissant. Nous voulons ainsi démontrer l’importance de « l’ouverture » du verset dans sa définition.
