Résumé Le présent article a fait l’objet d’une communication lors du premier Congrès international des formateurs en travail social et des intervenants sociaux francophones, à l’Université de Caen, en juillet 2005. Nous présentons d’abord une brève recension des écrits décrivant le contexte général d’utilisation de l’apprentissage en ligne. Cette recension aborde les avantages et les limites de la formation en ligne, tout particulièrement dans le cadre de la formation pratique de niveau universitaire. Nous exposons par la suite les principaux objectifs de la formation des superviseurs à l’École de service social de l’Université Laval, les enjeux et les besoins spécifiques liés au développement des stages internationaux et éloignés de la région de Québec. Nous terminons notre exposé par la présentation du projet de formation en ligne de notre programme d’initiation à la supervision pédagogique.
