Abstract
The contributions of Dr. Jacquelin Perry, the ''Grand Dame of Orthopedics,'' were colossal.The media coverage of her passing was enormous-within a week of her death, more than 130 newspapers and newsrooms (from the New York Times to ABC News to Dunya News TV in Pakistan) paid tribute to this legendary and inspirational leader.She will be missed, but her influence will endure long past her death.She exemplified the five core practices of a leader: challenging convention, inspiring a shared vision, instilling passion, enabling others, and being a role model.We owe it to her to continue her legacy of leading the way to improve the lives of our patients.
