Savoir environnemental local et scientifique : entre la révolution, la gouvernance nationale et le développement durable à Cuba

Abstract
Cet article examine le processus par lequel, à Cuba, les communautés côtières ont délaissé puis se sont réapproprié leur savoir environnemental local. En effet, le système étatique cubain, supporté par les valeurs de la révolution, a poussé la population à mettre un terme à leurs pratiques de subsistance. Toutefois, avec la crise économique des années 1990, la population a dû retrouver et réinventer un savoir local afin de pouvoir exploiter les ressources naturelles et assurer leur survie. Dans la communauté de Las Canas, ce processus fut jumelé à un projet de développement durable des ressources côtières. Toutefois, les savoirs scientifiques environnementaux n’ont pas entièrement transformé les pratiques et les discours de la population locale par rapport à l’environnement. Cet article analyse la manière dont les savoirs scientifiques sont plutôt réinterprétés et appropriés localement par les habitants de la Las Canas et les implications de cette dynamique.
