Abstract
Peu de recherches ont été consacrées aux prises de contrôle réalisées par les PME. Des caractéristiques propres à la PME, définies par le GREPME, nous avons tiré quelques hypothèses appliquées aux prises de contrôle et testées sur un échantillon de 19 PME françaises avec un échantillon témoin de 75 entreprises plus grandes. Les résultats confirment en partie seulement que les prises de contrôle menées par les PME ont un profil particulier (processus plus centralisé, moins spécialisé, plus intuitif, ayant un recours au conseil différent, et portant plutôt sur des opérations nationales). Ce résultat entretient le débat actuel sur la spécificité des PME.
