Abstract
Savoir créer ou repérer les occasions d’affaires et éviter les multiples écueils posés sur le chemin de leur appropriation est requis autant des entrepreneurs que des gestionnaires. À cette fin, une théorie de l’existence de l’organisation en affaires – dite théorie des affaires de l’entreprise – est un outil de base dans l’élaboration, les choix et la révision des décisions de gestion stratégique et tactique de marché. Cet article explique ce qu’est une théorie des affaires et présente sa place, son rôle et ses bienfaits dans la toile des décisions de gestion. Une bonne théorie des affaires est fort pratique car, par sa validité, elle favorise à la fois efficience et efficacité, permettant d’éviter des dérapages commerciaux dispendieux, voire tragiques. Plusieurs exemples sont offerts afin de rendre plus conviviale la découverte de cet outil de gestion.
