L’article définit l’information-people en cinq points, avant de se focaliser sur trois des enjeux qu’elle soulève et que la sociologie peut réfléchir. Est souligné d’abord le lien entre people et individualisme. Ce sont ensuite les liens du people avec le dévoilement de la vie privée dans l’espace public qui sont étudiés. Le texte se termine enfin par l’esquisse d’une matrice de traitement du people, matrice qui fait partie intégrante de sa définition.
