Abstract
Dans un certain nombre de performances théâtrales récentes, l’intensification de l’expérience du spectateur est de nature perceptive. L’article développe l’hypothèse selon laquelle l’articulation encore brute et tâtonnante de deux médias : le médium archaïque qu’est le théâtre et le médium à l’état naissant qu’est l’« écriture » [ou la « composition »] « sonore », peut provoquer, par ruptures, fractures, « disruptions », un renouvellement profond de la relation à la performance scénique. Après avoir présenté quelques exemples, l’auteur suggère de situer la source de cette inventivité intermédiale dans les années 1980, moment où le théâtre se redéfinit comme lieu d’élaboration de véritables images, par le biais de l’écoute active d’une aire de jeu à la fois bruitée et vocalisée. Ce sont désormais les ingénieurs, concepteurs, manipulateurs du son qui ont l’idée — et les moyens — d’organiser l’écoute du théâtre, devenant ainsi de nouveaux médiateurs entre la scène et le public.
