Les agrgats de gaz rares constituent un tat de la matire intermdiaire entre les cibles solides massives et les atomes en phase gazeuse. Il a t dmontr que les agrgats irradis sont sources d'ions, d'lectrons, de neutrons ainsi que de rayonnement allant du visible aux X durs. Cette source peut-tre produite avec un taux de rptition lev et a l'avantage de ne pas produire de dbris, dommageables pour les optiques notamment, et de prsenter une trs forte conversion de l'nergie laser incidente. Nous nous intressons au rayonnement X particulirement, en le caractrisant en intensit, spectre et dure, comme pralable toute application de cette source X et comme moyen privilgi d'tude de la physique des plasmas nanomtriques chauds et denses. En collaboration avec l'INRS-nergie (Varenne, Qc, Canada), nous avons mis en oeuvre une camra balayage de fente dont la rsolution temporelle est de 800 fs rms. En focalisant des impulsions laser courtes (30 fs -5 ps) et intenses (jusqu' 10 17 W/cm 2 ) sur des agrgats d'argon dont le rayon varie de 15 30 nm, nous avons dmontr que l'mission X dont l'nergie est suprieure 2 keV est plus courte que 2 ps, limit par la rsolution temporelle. En couplant la camra un cristal tronconique, dont la conception a t ralise au LULI (Palaiseau, France), nous nous sommes intresss au rayonnement de couche K dans la gamme 2,9 -3,2 keV. Nous avons dmontr que ce rayonnement a une dure infrieure 3 ps (limite de la rsolution temporelle), et que les raies taient mises avec un cart relatif infrieur 1 ps. Une simulation base sur le modle nano-plasma propos par T. Ditmire et sur le code collisionnel-radiatif Transpec a t dveloppe au CELIA. Les spectres X rsolus en temps calculs reproduisent la fois la brivet d'mission du rayonnement X et les tats de charge levs observs.
