Abstract
Après avoir précisé le caractère « problématique » de l’identité taiwanaise, l’auteure analyse le film Le Temps de vivre, le temps de mourir (1985) de Hou Xiaoxian, selon le point de vue de la recherche identitaire. Elle démontre que le cinéaste révèle une identité nationale nouvelle, qui aspire à devenir un creuset où tous les habitants de Taiwan, quelle que soit leur origine, peuvent trouver leur place, sauf les femmes. Bien qu’englobante, cette identité reste donc partielle.
