Le but de cet article est d'examiner les ouvrages de W. G. Sebald d'un point de vue archivistique. En premier lieu, notre analyse de Vertiges, Les migrants, Les Anneaux de Saturne et Austerlitz a t effectue selon cinq critres : la typologie, la prsentation, la reproduction, la relation entre les images et le texte, et les effets sur le lecteur. Dans une deuxime partie, nous profitons de la manire exemplaire dont les documents d'archives sont mis profit par l'crivain dans ses ouvrages pour rflchir aux conditions d'utilisation et l'impact dterminant de celles-ci sur les archives et l'archivistique.
