Cet article vise à saisir la façon dont les pratiques de santé participent aux et signalent les transformations de la prison. Nous rappelons tout d’abord la façon dont les préoccupations sanitaires sont liées à la prison moderne. Nous montrons ensuite que la logique néolibérale s’est taillée une place dans l’expérience générale de la prison. Enfin, nous démontrons que le courant de la nouvelle santé publique contribue à l’actualisation de la logique néolibérale en prison à travers trois éléments: l’instrumentalisation des détenus comme vecteurs de santé des communautés, la « santéisation» de la gestion actuarielle des détenus et la reconfiguration de la relation de soin en détention.
