Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

We present results for the branching fractions and charge asymmetries in ${B}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{h}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ (where ${h}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}={\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}},{K}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$) and a search for the decay ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ using a sample of approximately $88\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $B\overline{B}$ pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy $B$ Factory at SLAC. We measure $\mathcal{B}({B}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0})=({5.5}_{\ensuremath{-}0.9}^{+1.0}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.6)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The ${B}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ signal has a significance of $7.7\ensuremath{\sigma}$ including systematic uncertainties. We simultaneously measure the ${K}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ branching fraction to be $\mathcal{B}({B}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0})=({12.8}_{\ensuremath{-}1.1}^{+1.2}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.0)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$. The charge asymmetries are ${\mathcal{A}}_{{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}}=\ensuremath{-}{0.03}_{\ensuremath{-}0.17}^{+0.18}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.02$ and ${\mathcal{A}}_{{K}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}}=\ensuremath{-}0.09\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.09\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.01$. We place a 90% confidence-level upper limit on the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}({B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0})$ of $3.6\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}\text{ }$.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
