Abstract
Cette tude analyse des strotypes et des gnralisations sur le Canada obtenus dans un chantillon de manuels europens de franais langue trangre. Ces strotypes et gnralisations ont t classifis en fonction des thmes et des groupes de la socit canadienne auxquels ils se rfrent et de l'approche culturelle suivie. Les usagers de ce genre de manuels obtiendraient des reprsentations majoritairement bipartites du Canada dans ces strotypes et gnralisations : ces reprsentations se centrent sur des thmes et des groupes sociaux du Qubec et du reste du Canada dans l'ensemble. Quant l'approche culturelle prsente dans ces reprsentations, elle est gnralement trangre et peut tre galement interculturelle. Cependant, cette dernire est focalise sur les relations entre la France et le Canada. Cette recherche indique qu'il y aurait une tendance rduire la gamme de thmes et de groupes sociaux de la socit canadienne dans des strotypes et des gnralisations dans les manuels viss.
