Abstract
Résumé Nous présentons ici quelques indications sur le développement de la sociologie au Québec, hier et aujourd’hui. Nous montrons comment la sociologie fut d’abord québécoise, enracinée dans la trame évolutive de la société québécoise, pour progressivement devenir un champ scientifique et universitaire spécifique. La sociologie impliquée certes dans le devenir de la société québécoise, mais devenue plus nettement discipline académique, moins centrée sur la société immédiate, s’avère sans doute moins « engagée » directement dans les causes sociales qui la caractérisent encore.
