Abstract
L’étude des missions oblates auprès des Amérindiens et des Inuit du Nord canadien constitue un objet de recherche récent. Cet article propose un bref survol historiographique à travers les contributions respectives de l’histoire, de l’anthropologie et de l’ethnohistoire. L’auteur suggère quelques perspectives pour le futur et défend l’idée selon laquelle l’anthropologie historique, compte tenu de la complémentarité des méthodes historiques et anthropologiques, est bien équipée pour saisir la question du changement et des métissages, tant du côté des autochtones que de celui des missionnaires.
