Abstract
Cette étude vérifie si l’adaptation scolaire des adolescents et des adolescentes judiciarisés est associée à leur adaptation personnelle et sociale au début de l’âge adulte. Les dimensions suivantes sont évaluées : les conduites déviantes, les difficultés interpersonnelles et intrapersonnelles, le statut socioéconomique. L’échantillon est composé de 86 adolescentes et de 173 adolescents qui étaient judiciarisés en 1992-1993. Les résultats indiquent que l’inadaptation scolaire s’accompagne de conduites et d’attitudes déviantes chez les adolescents alors que chez les adolescentes, ce sont surtout des difficultés intériorisées qui se conjuguent aux difficultés scolaires. Toutefois, l’inadaptation scolaire n’est pas associée à une vulnérabilité accrue sur le plan socioéconomique. La précarité socioéconomique caractérise tout autant ceux et celles qui avaient une meilleure adaptation scolaire.
