Abstract

Des grains arborescents, botryoidaux et reniformes de platine et de palladium provenant de Corrego Bom Sucesso, Serro, Minas Gerais, Bresil, ont fait l'objet d'analyses avec un microscope electronique a balayage et une microsonde electronique. Les pepites atteignent une longueur maximale de 2.5 mm et montrent une zonation du noyau a la bordure en Pt, Pd et Hg. Un grain est particulier pour son lisere de platine palladifere riche en mercure et des lamelles internes vermiformes enrichies en Hg et Au. Le lisere contient 10-20% de Hg par poids, et possede une stoechiometrie empirique proche de (Pt,Hg) 2 Pd. Des cristaux hexagonaux de platine palladifere forment une zone peripherique d'un grain arborescent. Ces cristaux ont une composition analogue au PtPd stoechiometrique et semblent representer une espece ordonnee distincte a la fois du platine ou du palladium. La plupart des grains de Pt-Pd montrent des piqures de dissolution, qui concorderaient avec l'hypothese qu'ils sont des pepites primaires assujetties a un lessivage. L'anatase, avec ou sans intercroissance avec l'or, et des aggregats riches en Na-K-Cl, sont venus par la suite. Le selenium est present en proportions mineures (jusqu'a 0.3% par poids) dans les pepites Pt-Pd. Le rapport S:Se est <1 et semble indiquer un fractionnement du Se a partir du S en milieu oxydant a faible temperature. De tels milieux oxydants expliqueraient les faibles teneurs en Fe des alliages. Les pepites Pt-Pd de Corrego Bom Sucesso concordent avec l'observation que la grande majorite des indices de Pd-Pt economiquement importants au Bresil associes avec l'or ou l'hematite (ou les deux) possedent une signature selenifere distinctive.
