Abstract
La communauté des Soeurs des Saints Noms de Jésus et de Marie (SNJM), s’est toujours fait un point d’honneur de valoriser son histoire. Ainsi, les cérémonies commémoratives sont l’occasion de rappeler les mérites de la fondatrice et des membres de la communauté, de souligner leurs succès dans l’oeuvre d’éducation et de conforter leur place parmi les communautés religieuses. Ce texte cherche à saisir l’adaptation du discours commémoratif des SNJM au gré des époques et à comprendre le message adressé à ses membres et au public en comparant le contenu des textes commémoratifs des célébrations de 1894, 1944, 1969 et 1994.
