Abstract
Ces dernières années ont vu l’émergence de la question des représentations par une communauté des pratiques linguistiques différenciées d’une autre communauté avec laquelle est néanmoins partagée une même langue. Cette question est considérée à partir du mode de donation du français du Québec dans deux romans policiers récents par des auteurs francophones de France. Ce corpus permet d’identifier deux stratégies rhétoriques pour le traitement de l’altérité. La stratégie réaliste met en scène le français du Québec comme pratique différentielle d’une communauté autre, et tend à reconduire l’asymétrie symbolique entre cette variété jugée périphérique et la variété centrale. La stratégie de pondération métisse les pratiques de différentes variétés sans chercher à en identifier la source. Cette investigation permet de documenter l’impression d’une résorption de l’insécurité symbolique de la communauté québécoise, à travers notamment la réception de la première stratégie.
