Abstract
Cet article analyse la logique selon laquelle deux petites entreprises industrielles opérant en milieu rural développent et utilisent, au cours des ans, différentes relations d’échanges technologiques, en insistant plus particulièrement sur leur démarche d’intégration dans un réseau formel d’échanges technologiques avec d’autres PMI. Il montre que la gestion de ces échanges ne vise pas seulement l’acquisition de savoirs variés mais aussi l’apport d’une légitimité aux changements technologiques engagés, afin de mobiliser un personnel formellement peu qualifié autour de ces changements technologiques, ainsi que pour créer l’intérêt de partenaires technologiques éloignés et difficilement accessibles. L’analyse montre aussi que les relations établies avec des confrères, et notamment l’intégration dans un réseau formel de PMI, jouent un rôle particulièrement important dans cette dimension sociale, politique et même quelquefois symbolique de la gestion du changement technologique. Le réseau d’échanges technologiques est conçu comme une forme d’entrepreneuriat collectif, en ce sens qu’il donne à des PMI rurales traditionnelles, ayant une marge individuelle d’innovation limitée, les moyens d’exercer ensemble une fonction innovatrice sensible dans leur secteur et leur région.
