Abstract
Ce texte répond à la note critique de Charles Castonguay concernant l’étude de Langlois, parue dans un numéro précédent de Recherches sociographiques (vol. XVI, no 2, 2000). Cette réponse remet en question la pertinence de la critique dans la mesure où celle-ci exagère grandement les intentions de l’étude, et en rappelle les véritables intentions, les objectifs et la portée. Ensuite, certaines difficultés d’ordre méthodologique, présentés par Castonguay (dans ce numéro) comme des lacunes majeures de l’étude, sont clarifiées. Enfin, l’auteur oppose à la pensée obsessive, réductrice et sans issue de son contradicteur sur l’assimilation irréductible des minorités francophones hors Québec, une vision porteuse d’avenir.
