Des régulations en lien avec l’âge, la santé et les caractéristiques du travail : le cas des infirmières d’un centre hospitalier français

Abstract
Dans le contexte du vieillissement des infirmières, nous proposons un cadre d’analyse des régulations liées à l’âge, à la santé et aux conditions de travail. Nous y définissons trois types de régulations : organisationnelle (transfert de poste), collective (répartition de tâches) et individuelle (changement de méthode de travail). Les résultats de différentes investigations (épidémiologie, démographie du travail, reconstitution de parcours professionnels, entretien, questionnaire et analyse de l’activité) montrent que les infirmières ont des itinéraires professionnels liés en partie à leur assujettissement au travail posté, aux contraintes physiques et psychiques. Face à ces contraintes, les infirmières d’unités « jeunes » se répartissent certaines tâches et s’entraident fréquemment. Quant aux régulations individuelles, elles dépendent des marges de manœuvre organisationnelles : plus les contraintes sont fortes, plus les infirmières ont des difficultés à mettre en œuvre leurs compétences. En conclusion, nous proposons notamment que les réflexions se centrent sur la mise en œuvre simultanée des trois types de régulations.
