It was toward the end of November 2006, at the time when we have the shortest day in Iceland, that the Chief Nurse Executive at the Landspitali University Hospital (LUH) in Reykjavik (Anna Stefansdottir) decided to implement family nursing at LUH. This decision was taken while Dr. Lorraine Wright, Professor Emeritus at the University of Calgary, was visiting Reykjavik to offer her third course on family
