Abstract
La féminisation des professions libérales constitue-t-elle une rupture ou une continuité dans la situation des femmes sur le marché du travail et dans l'ensemble de la société depuis un siècle ? Pour plusieurs, il s'agit là d'une rupture, parce que le phénomène de l'accession des femmes à ces chasses gardées masculines, qui sont aussi des lieux de pouvoir, marque une étape décisive dans l'amélioration de leur position dans la société. Pour d'autres, la féminisation des professions est d'abord liée à leur dévalorisation et à leur dégradation. Le présent article propose de dépasser ces interprétations manichéennes afin d'arriver à une vision plus nuancée et plus complexe du phénomène de la féminisation. C'est par une réflexion sur l'état des recherches, puis par l'analyse circonstanciée d'un cas précis, celui de féminisation de la profession pharmaceutique au Québec, que l'auteure entend y arriver.
