Abstract
Les frontières, lignes conventionnelles marquant les limites politiques d’un territoire, fonctionnent de plus en plus comme des dispositifs réticulaires. Pourtant, on assiste à une multiplication d’artefacts matériels sur ces espaces, dont le sens est complexe. On cherche à comprendre ici à la fois la fermeture des paysages de frontière par les murs et la multiplication d’oeuvres d’art sur et autour de ces lignes symboliques. L’illustration par l’étude de la scène artistique et paysagère États-Unis/Mexique permet de mettre en évidence les enjeux du « tournant visuel » théorique que cet article explore.
