Abstract
Alors qu'elle a connu un certain regain d'activité au cours de la première moitié de cette décennie, l'industrie forestière québécoise éprouve des difficultés à remplacer sa main-d'oeuvre vieillissante. À partir des résultats d'une enquête, l'auteur indique certains facteurs qui expliquent ce problème de relève. Parmi eux se trouvent le mode de rémunération basé sur le rendement et l'obligation pour les travailleurs de fournir leurs outils, deux aspects de la gestion de la main-d'oeuvre qui gênent le recrutement et la formation des jeunes travailleurs dans cette industrie. L'auteur propose une analyse sociohistorique de ces dysfonctionnements de l'appareil productif.
