Abstract
RÉSUMÉ Enquêter sur la grand-parentalité en France Après plusieurs décennies de travaux consacrés à la famille nucléaire, les observateurs de la société d'aujourd'hui relèvent le rôle nouveau des liens inter-générationnels. Cependant, ceux-ci étaient plus souvent étudiés du point de vue des jeunes que des vieux. L'article se centre sur les grands-parents. « grands oubliés » de la parenté contemporaine. À partir d'une enquête qui combine des données statistiques à des entretiens qualitatifs menés selon les méthodes et les questionnements de l'anthropologie, l'article fait voir les nouvelles formes de la grand-parentalité. alors que les nouveaux grands-parents n'endossent plus les habits de la vieillesse qui étaient les leurs autrefois. La densité des relations, mesurée, n'a jamais été aussi importante par le passé; de nouvelles normes s'instaurent pour régler la bonne distance. L'enquête porte aussi sur les conflits et les tensions, et s'intéresse particulièrement aux formes nouvelles de dénomination. Ce travail veut par ailleurs ouvrir des pistes de réflexion sur l'enquête contemporaine de parenté. Mots-clés : Segalen. générations, grands-parents, dénomination. France
