Abstract
L’auteur vise à comprendre pour quelles raisons les accidents domestiques (près de 11 500 décès chaque année en France) peinent à apparaître comme un problème majeur de santé publique. L’analyse montre que les conséquences des accidents du domicile sur la santé publique sont sous-estimées dans les espaces politique et médiatique, sont plus fréquemment traitées dans les faits divers que dans l’information de santé et sont peu investies par les sociologues alors que l’on peut raisonnablement supposer que les groupes sociaux sont inégaux face à ce risque d’accident.
