Abstract
Les liens commerciaux des institutions financières soulèvent depuis plusieurs années beaucoup de débats à l’occasion de la réforme des lois sur les institutions financières. Le gouvernement fédéral a toujours affirmé des réserves sérieuses alors que le gouvernement du Québec y voyait un élément essentiel au financement de ses institutions financières mutuelles et coopératives. L’auteur résume l’évolution des positions depuis 1984 et montre la recherche d’un compromis qui semble vouloir s’être concrétisé depuis 1990.
