Résumé Le concept de guichet unique est un concept très porteur dans les administrations publiques. De très nombreux discours et programmes de réforme des administrations en font aujourd’hui le fer de lance de la modernisation des administrations. Par contre, peu d’études empiriques ont été menées sur l’état de développement du guichet unique au sein des administrations publiques. L’article vise à présenter de manière synthétique les résultats d’une recherche européenne conduite dans le cadre du programme COST (projet COST A14). Cette recherche a permis de rassembler 100 études de cas dans 11 pays européens. Partant de l’analyse de ces études de cas, le présent article essaie de dresser une typologie des modalités de déploiement des guichets uniques au sein des administrations afin de démontrer que sous un même concept se cachent des réalités organisationnelles et informationnelles très différentes.
