O presente artigo apresenta o diálogo estabelecido entre o Centre de recherche et d'intervention sur la réussite scolaire da Universitè du Quebéc a Trois-Rivière (UQTr) por meio dos trabalhos da Profª. Drª. Rollande Deslandes e o grupo de pesquisa Estudos sobre populações migrantes no Brasil e no Mundo: o papel da instituição escolar numa perspectiva comparatista a partir de pesquisa qualitativa e quantitativa realizada sobre o tema "lição de casa" nos primeiros anos da escolarização em Trois-Rivières e na cidade de São Paulo.
