L'auteure décrit quelques expériences féministes en milieu rural et présente des réflexions partagées avec des intervenantes oeuvrant dans ce milieu. Plus spécifiquement, cet article résulte d'une implication avec des groupes de femmes et d'actions qui se sont déroulées dans le cadre du programme de maîtrise en service social (Côté, 1985). Ce texte n'a pas la prétention d'être exhaustif, mais se veut une contribution pour la pratique. Il fait ressortir les éléments qui caractérisent la société rurale québécoise ainsi que les influences d'un modèle d'intervention sur la vie des femmes. Une revue de la documentation permet d'esquisser le portrait des femmes vivant en milieu rural et les principales difficultés qu'elles ont à affronter. Y sont ensuite présentées quelques interventions féministes en milieu rural, au Canada. En dernier lieu, on retrouve un bilan de la situation actuelle en regard de la problématique, de son évolution et des impacts pour la pratique.
