Abstract
Le présent travail constitue un survol de l'état du droit en ce qui concerne les contrats de parrainage pour la catégorie de la famille dans le domaine de l'immigration. Adoptant une approche civiliste, l'auteure passe en revue les règles de sélection administrative en matière d'immigration ainsi que les règles de droit commun en matière de contrats, et ce, dans le but de fournir certaines réponses aux interrogations que soulèvent la formation, les effets, les moyens d'extinction et les recours possibles en cas d'inexécution des obligations d'un contrat de parrainage. L'auteure veut également démontrer l'étendue de l'engagement du garant en mettant en lumière les circonstances qui peuvent donner ouverture à une résiliation du contrat de parrainage.
