Abstract
Resume Les politiques linguistiques respectivement mises en œuvre par l’Etat federal canadien et l’Etat federe du Quebec se revelent parfois difficiles a concilier. Le Canada privilegie la liberte linguistique individuelle et le bilinguisme institutionnel qui, en favorisant la concurrence entre les langues anglaise et francaise, maintiennent cette derniere en situation de vulnerabilite. En revanche, les autorites quebecoises cherchent a proteger et a promouvoir le francais en rendant son usage obligatoire dans certains domaines sociaux et economiques, parfois de facon exclusive mais, le plus souvent, en permettant egalement l’usage d’autres langues.
