Résumé L'auteure exploré ici une facette peu connue de l'oeuvre de Jacques Ferron, soit son activité en tant qu'épistolier. Pofygraphe, Ferron fut aussi un homme de lettres, au sens le plus littéral de l'expression. À la lumière des correspondances privées récemment publiées échangées avec le psychanalyste Julien Bigras et le journaliste torontois John Grube, Ginette Michaud montre comment ces lettres se présentent souvent comme un véritable laboratoire d'écriture pour l'écrivain, entrelaçant de manière complexe des fragments de roman familial où se croisent, entre autres sujets, la famille, la nation et la folie.
