S’il est important que les jeunes Africains prennent la responsabilité du développement de leurs pays et en particulier de leur démocratisation, il ne faut pas pour autant se mettre à sous-estimer l’effet négatif et durable du colonialisme sur les pays africains, notamment sur les rapports entre hommes et femmes. Des politiques centrées sur les besoins en santé et en éducation des femmes, soutenues par des modèles de femmes admirables comme les lauréates du prix Nobel de la paix 2004 et 2011, pourraient transformer la situation.
