Abstract
Les auditeurs législatifs seraient-ils devenus les derniers héros de la saine gestion des Administrations ? Alors que la disgrâce frappe sans délai les élus et les Administrations, que leurs décisions soient légitimes ou non, les auditeurs législatifs échappent davantage au tribunal de l’opinion publique. La fonction d’auditeur législatif semble dorénavant entourée d’une aura de crédibilité acquise pour avoir dénoncé des dérives de la gestion des affaires publiques. Mais au-delà de cette aura, la fonction et la portée du travail des auditeurs législatifs sont encore très méconnues de la population, des élus et de la presse. L’analyse de deux événements survenus récemment, alors que des vérificateurs généraux se sont retrouvés eux-mêmes dans la controverse, a fait ressortir cette méconnaissance des principaux enjeux liés à la fonction d’auditeur législatif.
