Abstract
La représentation territoriale des francophones du Canada a considérablement évolué depuis 1763. Autrefois vaste espace non borné, et défini par l’extension du peuplement francophone, l’idée du Canada français s’est évanouie avec l’émergence d’une représentation d’un État nation dépositaire d’un territoire propre, le Québec. De fait, soucieux de marquer son emprise sur un territoire présenté comme national, mais dont l’origine juridique demeure britannique, le gouvernement du Québec a développé la représentation du droit à l’exploitation économique systématique de ses richesses : ce discours traduit les préoccupations géopolitiques du gouvernement québécois d’asseoir l’idée d’une juridiction pleine et entière sur ce qu’il présente comme son territoire national.
