Abstract
La théorie économique de la régulation fait jouer aux institutions un rôle de canalisation des comportements expliquant comment ceux-ci confortent la croissance dans un régime d’accumulation. Dans une phase de recomposition structurelle, les institutions perdent cette propriété. L’article propose de voir, derrière la perte de canalisation, un effet normatif qui ne s’exerce plus, parce que des individus n’acceptent plus de se ranger derrière des normes de conduite. La théorie de la régulation a besoin de comprendre la formation des régulations sociales, des règles légitimes auxquelles les individus acceptent de se plier, et doit pour cela donner place à la recomposition des identités individuelles et collectives.
