Abstract
Les ouvrages de médecine qui s’intitulent « Trésor » constituent un corpus fécond pour qui s’intéresse à la participation des milieux éditoriaux à la transmission des connaissances et expériences héritées, durant la Renaissance. Envisagée comme un produit éditorial visant à rassembler en de petits ouvrages commodes d’emploi les écrits les plus célèbres des autorités en la matière, la catégorie des « Trésors de médecine » tire sa valeur aussi bien de la reconnaissance accordée à ces écrits, à la fois théoriques et pratiques, que du souci de les transmettre au plus grand nombre. Le choix de la langue vernaculaire, les nombreuses aides à la lecture, le coût modéré de ces ouvrages contribuent à inscrire ces publications dans la vaste entreprise de vulgarisation des savoirs née du développement de l’imprimé, tout en promettant à leurs lecteurs, par la rhétorique titulaire et préfacielle des « Trésors », des ouvrages d’exception.
